The Waldorf School of Santa Barbara is pleased to announce the annual Hike-A-Thon in support of our children’s dynamic and rich education. This year’s Hike-A-Thon will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Hike-A-Thon is a major fundraising event led by our students. This event helps to ensure that the Waldorf School of Santa Barbara’s world-class education is available to all. We ask for your support!
For those new to this invigorating outdoor event, it is a wonderful time for our community as we hike together to raise money for our school.
The beauty of this fundraiser is that it gives our children the opportunity to set a personal challenge for themselves while being of service to their school.
It is a celebration of our school spirit, acting for the greater good, and accomplishing a personal goal. Lavender Rose is not expected to participate in the hike itself but can help support the fundraiser in other ways.
Tuition alone does not cover the Waldorf School of Santa Barbara’s costs. We rely on monies from events such as our Hike-A-Thon to fulfill our mission of providing the highest quality Waldorf education for our students.
Contributions to the Hike-A-Thon support and help keep this world-class education within reach for as many families as possible. Approximately 70% of our families receive some level of tuition assistance. This assistance allows for a greater diversity within our classrooms which in turn enhances the educational opportunities for all of our students.
Each year we choose a charity to donate a percentage of the proceeds generated from the student’s hiking pledges. This year’s recipient is The BeeKeepers Guild of Santa Barbara.
