6th grade Curriculum

Besides the prerequisite practice lessons in language arts and arithmetic, our Waldorf students have the pleasure of enjoying two lessons per week in the following subjects: 

Spanish, Handwork; hand sewing (cross-stitch, embroidery, and other stitches), four needle knitting, and machine sewing, Woodwork (learning how to make useful and imaginative items through the proper use of hand and machine tools), Flute and Recorder, Strings Orchestra, Gardening, Games and Sports.

  • COLLABORATIVE AND SOLO WRITING; READING, VOCABULARY, SPELLING, GRAMMAR; FIVE PARAGRAPH ESSAY WRITING; HISTORY OF ROME AND THE MIDDLE AGES AS LITERARY CONTENT; RECITATION AND ACTING

  • TOOLED GEOMETRY; PERCENTAGE AND RATIO; BUSINESS MATH PROJECTS

  • MINERALOGY AND GEOLOGY; ASTRONOMY; PHYSICS: ACOUSTICS OPTICS, HEAT, MAGNETISM

  • WORLD GEOGRAPHY: THE TRANSITION FROM ANCIENT TO MODERN, THE DECLINE OF GREECE, THE RISE AND FALL OF ROME, AND THE EFFECTS OF THESE CULTURES ON EUROPEAN CIVILIZATION UP THROUGH THE MIDDLE AGES
