Approaching Summer
With just two short weeks until the end of the year, the campus is buzzing with excitement and activity. All the classes from EC to Grade 8 are eagerly working to complete assignments and projects.
The Morning Glory class is making sun-catchers and acting out the story of The Old Woman and Her Tulips.
The Lavender Roses are working diligently in the play yard preparing for a summer refresh. They are also finishing up sewn pouches.
The Golden Knights of the White Rose Kindergarten are finishing up their bird house woodwork projects and completing their loom weavings.
Grade 1 is completing a Home Surroundings block where they are learning about the animals and plants that live in the world around them.
Grade 2 is engaged in a Math block and are creating pop up books about their favorite story from the year.
Grade 3 will present the final class play of the year on May 28 - Joseph and His Brothers.
Grades 4 and 5 are finishing a Math block of decimal fractions and metric measurements, including mass, distance, and volume.
Grade 6 is studying European Geography, and each student has chosen a country to report on. Their year will culminate with a feast of dishes from their chosen country.
Grades 7 and 8 depart for Headwaters Outdoor School on Tuesday, May 26, where they will spend a week in the woods and participate in a Rite of Passage.

End of Year Celebration
Next Friday, May 29, is our annual end of year celebration. This year, we are grateful to announce that our Board of Trustees will be hosting the event. Rather than having a potluck, a dinner will be provided for all families. To make this an environmentally friendly event, please bring your own plates, cup (or water bottle) and flatware. Let us come together to celebrate another rich and full school year together! Looking forward to seeing you there!
Classroom Move/Clean Day on June 5
We will be holding our 2nd annual Move/Clean Up Day on Friday, June 5. Teachers will be in their classrooms from 9 a.m. to noon cleaning, organizing, and for some, moving. We welcome any parents that can join and lighten the load! Look for more details from your child’s teacher.
Parking Lot Reminders
Please remember to follow our drop off and pick up procedures. It is imperative that we all drive slowly in the lot and do not park anywhere in the lot. When cars are parked outside of marked spots, they make the lot unsafe for students walking to cars and for other drivers. Please park in the neighborhood if you are not using the pick-up line. Also, please do not leave your car unattended in the line at any point. The safety of our students is our priority. Thank you!
Travel Routines That Make Vacations Work with Kids - Kim John Payne
Traveling can be challenging for children due to the loss of daily rhythms. Kim distinguishes between macro rhythms (“when” - time-based) and micro rhythms (the small, repeatable “how” of daily life). While macro rhythms may be disrupted, micro rhythms are highly portable and can provide the soothing structure children need. He shares simple ways to maintain them during travel to help children feel secure and more able to enjoy new experiences.
