The Golden Goose, A Family Dance, Woodwork, and More

The Golden Goose

Grade 1 performed their first class play this week, The Golden Goose. The story tells of a kind young man, who, through an act of generosity, receives a magical golden goose. This leads to a comical procession of characters and ultimately wins the young man the heart of a princess. Congratulations Grade 1 and Ms. Anderson!

All families are warmly invited to gather for an evening of music and dance in the Great Room. The Parent Association will provide a light dinner as well, so just come and have some family fun!

The date happens to fall on Rudolf Steiner's birthday, so we can informally celebrate the birth of the founder of Waldorf Education! Please watch for an RSVP soon.

From Mr. K

We’re excited to share some thoughtful improvements to our woodworking program this year. Thanks to recent investments, students now have access to new chisels, carving knives, and gouges—high-quality tools that support both skill development and safety procedures. Additional tools will also be purchased to accommodate the larger class sizes rising in the younger grades. These will include more rasps and saws.

Looking ahead, a portion of the program’s budget is also being intentionally set aside to help create a dedicated woodworking space when the time comes to expand. This long-term vision will allow the program to grow in a way that continues to honor care, creativity, and hands-on learning.

Thank you for supporting a program where students learn through creating practical things, develop patience in the process, and pride in their work.

With gratitude,

Mr. K

Please Welcome Ms. Alana

We welcome Ms. Alana as our new Grades assistant. Ms. Alana has worked in Waldorf farm camps where she had the privilege of introducing children ages 6–12 to the wonders of animal husbandry and biodynamic farming, encouraging connection with the natural world. She will be supporting the younger Grades in subject and skills classes. Please say hello if you see her on campus!

Early Childhood Celebrates Candlemas

On Monday morning, the EC classes met in the garden to celebrate Candlemas. Ms. Justine shared a heartwarming story and the students planted seeds in the garden. The garden will be blooming soon!
