Celebrations and Adventures!
May Faire and Class Trips
We had a beautiful May Faire and Grandparents/Special Friends Day yesterday! Students, teachers, parents, grandparents, and beloved friends joined together for a day of flower crown making, dancing, and strawberries. Thank you to all who helped make the day a beautiful one!
As the end of the year approaches, several classes have been off on trips.
Grades 4 & 5 crossed the Santa Barbara Channel to Santa Cruz Island where they camped for three nights. The focus of this trip was Botany which they have been studying this year. The students kayaked and snorkeled in the clear waters, hiked with a local ranger, and learned from two seabird biologists. They enjoyed delicious meals and found some quiet moments during a sit spot.
Grade 1 held a family campout at Paradise Campground, where they explored the woods and river, heard stories from Ms. Anderson, and enjoyed s'mores around the campfire!
This week, Grade 6 traveled to Yosemite where they were focused on Geology. They stayed along the Merced River, took many beautiful hikes to waterfalls, tried bouldering, and observed the majestic granite of the glacial valley.
These trips are always a highlight to the students and teachers. The students have such meaningful experiences and return even more bonded and cohesive.
