A Remarkable Education for Remarkable Young Minds

The Waldorf School of Santa Barbara offers a rigorous, developmentally-appropriate curriculum enriched with hands-on, creative, and artistic experiences every day.

Daily Rhythm- In and Out Breaths

In Waldorf education, the “in-breath and out-breath” refers to the natural rhythm of the school day—and even the curriculum itself—that mirrors the child’s own need for balance between activity and rest, expression and reflection, outer engagement and inner stillness. This daily rhythm is utilized at each age level.

Programs Overview

  • One of our most popular offerings. We meet once per week for seven weeks to introduce our youngest community members to Waldorf education while supporting parents on their journey. Each meeting is filled with an atmosphere of joy and respect for young children.

  • A gentle yet sensory-rich atmosphere alive with play-based activities encourages our youngest group of children to investigate the natural world and develop their first social relationships. This journey begins with nurturing teachers who lovingly support each child’s unfolding in these early, formative years.

“Before we want our children to save the world, we want them to fall in love with the world. That is really the most important gift we can give to children if there is to be real hope for the future.
